Antizionism = antisemitism. Jewish communities are stronger when they are together.

Words have Meanings.

I Strongly Object to your insidious attempts to BLUR the unique meanings of both words. Antisemitism vs Anti-Zionism

Antisemitism is hostility toward, prejudice against, or discrimination against Jews. The term was coined in 1879 by German agitator Wilhelm Marr to designate anti-Jewish campaigns in central Europe, evolving from earlier religious anti-Judaism to include racial dimensions.

IHRA Working Definition: Adopted by over 40 countries and numerous international bodies, the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance defines antisemitism as "a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews." This definition notes that manifestations can target Jewish individuals, property, community institutions, or the state of Israel conceived as a Jewish collectivity, while clarifying that criticism of Israel similar to that leveled against any other country is not antisemitic.

Alternative Definitions: Other frameworks offer nuanced perspectives, such as the Jerusalem Declaration on Antisemitism, which focuses on discrimination or violence against Jews "as Jews," and the Nexus Definition, which addresses the intersection of antisemitism and Israel in American politics. Scholars also distinguish between racial antisemitism, driven by beliefs in inherent Jewish traits, and religious antisemitism, rooted in theological supersessionism.

***************

Anti-Zionism is the opposition to Zionism, defined as the rejection of the Jewish people's right to self-determination and statehood in their ancestral homeland, the land of Israel. While distinct from criticism of specific Israeli government policies, it fundamentally attacks the foundational legitimacy of Jewish nationhood and often denies the historical Jewish connection to the land.

Distinction from Antisemitism: Major organizations like the ADL and AJC assert that anti-Zionism is antisemitic in intent or effect because it singles out Jews for denying them rights afforded to other peoples. However, some scholars and activists argue the terms are not inherently identical, noting that anti-Zionism can stem from political objections to ethno-nationalism or specific religious beliefs rather than racial hatred.

Varied Motivations: Opposition to Zionism arises from diverse perspectives, including:

Political views labeling the ideology as colonialist or racist toward Palestinians.

Religious beliefs, such as those of some ultra-Orthodox Jews who oppose a Jewish state prior to the Messiah's arrival.

Ideological rejections of all nation-states.

Solidarity with Palestinian national aspirations.

You say many valuable things but no one is 'blurring the distinction,' we are actually emphasizing the distinction.

One might fully object to the politics espoused by Zionism and to the actions taken by any Sovereign State that endorses Zionism, without ever being Anti-Semitic. You are forcing a merger of those two unique and separate words / concepts to the detriment of those that fully recognize the difference.

Mister Happy, this is not the time to splitting hairs.
